    Old school Question

The typhoon doesnt use Smart batteries so any quality lipo balancing charger will work with the aftermarket harness. I use a 4 port charger with an external power supply that allows me to charge 4 batteries at 100 watts per port. Your Traxas charger should probably work but I am not personally...

    Old school Question

If you are getting more battery packs I would highly recommend also purchasing a quality lipo charger and adapter harnesses for the batteries. You'll have much more control over the charging cycles and you'll cut charging times in half.

    Old school Question

Those old NiCad batteries had problems with no longer taking a full charge if you didn't regularly charge them to capacity. With the advent of NiMh cells the chances of that happening decreased significantly. The problem with modern polymer batteries like lipo and lion cells is that if you...

Yuneec Customer Care Replacing my fly away H-pro

I love both systems but being on a budget and with as many planes and quads I have the price for receivers was just too much for me to consider them. Currently I'm using a 9XR with FrSky module and receivers for the big gliders and a Radiolink AT10 for everything else. That radiolink system is...

Yuneec Customer Care Replacing my fly away H-pro

I've actually been wondering what protocol Yuneec uses in it's products. They have been producing products for horizon hobbies for a while now and all that product uses dsmx. I would not be surprised they still use dsmx under license. I personally have not been a fan of spektrum and dumped all...

Batteries, get them while you can.

You should check out Carolinadronz. They have some great battery accessories for the H including adapters to charge your batteries on a proper lipo charger to cut charge times in half and a quick voltage checker so you can check the voltage of each cell witbout having to install the battery to...

Batteries, get them while you can.

People forget that part sometimes. I can't tell you how many times I've seen 250 quad racers put a 60c pack in their quad thinking it gets better performance but in all actuality performance decreases due to the extra weight. Always measure the battery draw with a good watt meter. If the draw at...

Batteries, get them while you can.

Although there are many name brands of lipo batteries being sold there are only a few manufacturers which supply the cells for everybody else. Gens ace packs are good but not generally worth the price compared to other brands. You can get the same quality and performance by buying other brands...

    What A Journey

You're right about the lack of proper documentation. It is a big shortcoming across the board in the RC community. The unfortunate side effect is that the net is flooded by conjecture, guesses, and anecdotal evidence. It also doesn't help those who are brand new to the hobby and have no previous...

    What A Journey

I noticed the sister forums. Thanks for that information. Maybe my feelings on criticism between camps was perhaps not clearly outlined. I have no problem with criticism of any kind as long as it is informed and based on clearly stated reasons. My issues, and the reason why going to other boards...

    What A Journey

Thanks for the warm welcome. The more I read about the capabilities of the Typhoon H ( or as Irixguy on youtube says it "Haitch" ) the more I am convinced that this is the most versatile video platform for a single user. CCC mode is the best waypoint implementation I have yet seen. Plan out your...

    What A Journey

For a little background, I have been flying RC aircraft for many many years. Currently in the hanger I have close to 40 aircraft ranging from 3 meter gliders to 250 size racing quads. I am definitely not new to flying rc. with that out of the way, here then is my journey to deciding on the...
