Agreed, but 23.99 that the CGO3+ is giving me is way not standard. Mike

If you wanna be the cool guy with the flying golf cart you're gonna have to accept some level of risk. It's the price ya pay! Mike

    Oddball framerates

Well, 23.98 and 23.976 are pretty interchangeable, but 23.99 is definitely non-standard.

Hey Ted, thanks for posting that clip. One quick look and I can confirm it is far crisper and cleaner than what I am getting off of the TH. Did you shoot that LOG and then color grade it? For what it's worth I did some experimenting with shooting different frame rates this morning and I am a...

    Oddball framerates

Hey Folks, I did a little experimenting with different frame rates with my TH and I am really confused by what Yuneec is doing with frame rates. Since I am in an NTSC world I have looked at rates of 29.97, 23.98, 60 and 120. Also I'll add that I am looking at the frame rates in Quicktime...

Thanks for the review Ted. I purchased my TH a week and a half ago and after shooting a bit of footage on it I'm a bit concerned with the quality of the video. As this is going to be a tool for my video production company my goal is to have the highest quality footage, not the best drone. Right...

Thanks Soundchemist1, but not a graphics card issue. I am running with dual 6GB cards. It's basically an issue with how FCPX is handling the footage. Mike

Dear Mickey, Thanks for the troll, I'll give you the pleasure of this one response and then leave it at that.... There is obviously an issue with importing the CGO3+ native 30fps footage into FCPX based on the simple fact that there are multiple people in this thread that have experienced it...

Quick update on this... I just went out this evening and shot some additional footage, but this time I shot at 3840x2160 24fps. I just assumed I would have to run it through Compressor as well but when I did Compressor failed on the encode. I thought "Well, what happens if I just bring it...

Sometimes I long for the good old days of Betacam SP tape. I always knew what would be coming into my edit bays. Now a days there are multiple formats, frame rates, wrappers, codecs etc... And in post I have to support them all!! Of course then I go look at some of that BetaCam SP footage and...

Calling all Mac/Final Cut Pro X users

Hey Mickey, It's not the Mac that's introducing the issue, it's Final Cut Pro X (FCPX). I can playback the native MP4 files in quicktime player just fine. My guess is that FCPX doesn't like the way that the version of H.264 codec that Yuneec is using is flagging frames in an oddball way that...

Hey Sam, I did straight ProRes 422. The difference in the flavors are bit rate. With the TH camera shooting at 60Mbps there is really no reason to go to HQ, 4444 or XQ. Good old ProRes 422 will be fine. Mike

Actually it was about the same time to do it in both apps. Output looked similar but I didn't put the over analytical goggles on before looking. I can say nothing stood out as this one was better than the other. If you have a need to create custom output settings in FCPX then I would say grab a...
