Can you Trust your Typhoon H

FWIW I had a somewhat similar experience. Except mine immediately after takeoff nosed over and went balls out into a fence about 2 feet above the ground. Several members here analyzed the logs and determined it was very definitely not pilot error. It was just outside of warranty and Yuneec...

    First and very catestrophic crash

So just to add a follow up/closure to this. I did repair the Typhoon. I've had several successful flights without a repeat of the flyaway. Found nothing inherently wrong during the repair that would explain the crash. Replaced the parts that I anticipated replacing, went through and factory...

    First and very catestrophic crash

As the warranty is expired, I tried anyway with Yuneec and they basically said "oh sorry, but for $80 an hour plus parts we might be able to fix it" They were kind enough to point out that there was "probably" a hardware failure and if I didn't send it in to be repaired correctly it would...

    First and very catestrophic crash

I appreciate the help. I really do. I have a ticket number with Yuneec and trying to get a call scheduled to discuss. IF the repair I made holds up to one of the arms, the motor head split right where it mates to the end of the carbon tube, then I am out just 2 arms. Would make the repair list...

    First and very catestrophic crash

Here is the full flight log folder. It was my understanding regarding rebuilding the GPS almanac that waiting that long only applied if you were flying in a new location that was a significant distance away? It's last flight, a successful flight, was from within 3 feet of the same starting point.

    First and very catestrophic crash

Something I noticed after I uploaded the flight to UAV Toolbox, the actual flight is the portion in red. Where the arrow is in the image below is where it started from and the other end of the red line is where it hit the fence. It was never where the rest of the green line is. I never had...

    First and very catestrophic crash

Last flight was last Saturday, 6 days ago. Powered up about 3 or 4 minutes before motors were armed, it has always been a little slow to acquire GPS. Rate slider was at turtle. I had gotten a compass warning a few times at another location about 6 flights ago. But not recently nor today...

    Here it is.

    First and very catestrophic crash

So I picked up a barely used Typhooh H back in November. I've had roughly 30 flights, from short to 10/12 minutes all successful other than clipping a single prop on the edge of a shrub in the front yard trying to fly too close to it early on. Beautiful sunny day today, winds are perfectly...

Moving the GPS and COMPASS MODULE.

I was more curious if it was known to be the same/compatible GPS module as it appears to be. If so the questions you ask wouldn't be much different than the OP's moving the GPS to a 3d printed tower as done above. I'm sure it would have some effect on center of gravity however the drone seems...

Moving the GPS and COMPASS MODULE.

So I just picked up a Typhoon H a few months ago, used but in great condition. It didn't look like it was used much and probably not even turned on for quite a while. Flew it a few times without issue and then figured I should probably make sure all the firmware was up to date. Immediately...
