    Ops Manual Revision

Thanks. I think I just read the regulation all wrong and I appreciate the clarification. Yes I was aware of the difference between a congested area and that of a thousand people or more. Totally agree with you in regards to flying over people. Thanks again.

    Ops Manual Revision

? Good luck. Thankfully I managed to renew the PfCO just before the latest amendment but still having to update anyway. I'll pay particular attention to the AAIB reporting as I don't think I've read that part yet. Q. Did the limits for a congested area come down to 50 metres in the amendments...

    Ops Manual Revision

Thanks and yes, they are big beasts, I'm way too short to plant myself on that size frame. Going off topic <sorry!> I also used to be a PADI diver. Got too the heights, err.. I mean depths of a Divemaster and worked out in the Caribbean in the early 90's. Cheers

    Ops Manual Revision

Hi! I too just renewed my permit, yes it was a struggle and this was about 4 weeks before the new regs kicked in. Now it's been reissued I'm having to update it again in order to stay ahead of the game. I also went through RUSTA for my initial PfCO and recently training and evaluation for fixed...

What Do YOU Do When Someone Threatens To Shoot Down Your Drone?

In regards to drones and cruise ships, it may be different from one cruise liner company to another, my experience is that you may take a drone on board BUT you cannot fly the drone whilst onboard the ship. Considering that it's a 100+million ($) chunk of metal with all kinds of radio emissions...

    Finally it happened!

Bounced mine and tipped over after I completed a task. The comment from the customer... "Is it meant to land upside down?"

    Auto land and transmitter failure

Is this something new? I never got briefed to allow for a Tx failure for my flight assessment. (PfCO Nov 2016) Don't get me wrong, I see the sense of it and I wrote just such an emergency for my Ops Manual but the most likely in-flight failure would be loss of GPS signal so expect to turn off...

    I did the unthinkable

Despite the subject matter this is a very good post. It shows that:- a) This could happen to anyone b) It's never one thing, it's a series of events that causes a crash I don't know about anybody else but this will hopefully make me a better pilot. Thank you Craig.

    Typhoon H jerky video

Hello all. Thank you for your replies. I've got the camera back from Yuneec UK and they informed that the SD card was not working correctly. They replaced it, a test flight followed and is working as it should be. I tested the camera on a flight a couple of days ago, at the original site and...

    Typhoon H jerky video

I'll keep an eye on what they're doing but of course it'll be in their best interest to sort me out, especially when I'm going to need a 4th battery at some point. I appreciate the heads up though.

    Typhoon H jerky video

I've sent Yuneec UK an email requesting their assistance and they came back with the the opinion that it could be a corrupted firmware update so they've offered to update the camera themselves, once I send it back, give it a clean bill of health and then return it. The SD card is a class 10...
