Poll - did you have or had problems with your Yuneec Typhoon H

Only problem I have found is the battery life is poor, I nearly lost mine due to a battery dropping in power rapidly after about 8 minutes of flight. I think I average 10 minutes per battery and have a couple so I don't think it's just a single battery. Will be investing what Yuneec say about...

Is the Typhoon H Still worth buying?

For the money you get a **** of a good craft. If you have a little extra in your pocket though and want a really good camera and double the flight time the P4 Pro or Advanced with a 1 inch camera sensor is hard to beat.

How do I transfer H flight log to Mac?

Android File Transfer from Google will do it when connected via USB - Android File Transfer

Posting a drone back to Yuneec

Oh I always thought the courier defined the insurance costs not parcel2go and I never insure it anyway, its going to New Barnet not Mogadishu and you have a greater chance of losing it over a lake than in a back of a van ;-)

    ST16(+) controller

And the Pro RS version is the only one with the extra antennas on the side of the drone?

Posting a drone back to Yuneec

Parcel2go.com is a good service, gives you plenty of options. I tend to use something like hermes from there, dirt cheap and reliable. Not the fastest though.

    Flight four.........CRASH

To be honest I'm not quite sure whether your experience above agrees, disagrees or not like for like. My point was that smart mode will not cause the Typhoon H to suddenly shoot off in a random direction if you happen to start your flight in smart mode and be too close to the craft. You said it...

    Flight four.........CRASH

Hate to say it, but smart mode does not work like that. Has anyone actually tried either taking off, or switching to smart mode in flight within the smart mode circle? I have and it does not fly out of control for the safety limit, it only engages once you are outside of it. I did this just...

No confidence in the H at this point.

I have to admit I received a replacement ST16 from Yuneec support once and the sticks were pushed in and the screws to hold them in place threaded. They're quality control in support is shocking. On another occasion they had my Typhoon H in for service as it would not fly straight, after two...

    Enable GPS mid flight

Interesting discussion here, and I noticed on another recent thread that someone disabled GPS mid flight, then tried to enable it again and it wouldn't come back on when flying in rual area goes self induced bad. Slightly different circumstances as they started with GPS whereas I didn't.

    Well, It Finally Happened

I tested it today and can confirm it will not zoom off to get to the minimum distance, it will simply not engage smart mode until you fly out to the minimum distance. I tested this by standing within 5 feet or so of the Typhoon H, mode set to smart mode, engaged motors and took off, hovered...

    Well, It Finally Happened

So confused about the correct thing. However I am 90% sure if you are within 30 feet and take off in smart mode it will not fly off like a crazy thing, it has a failsafe which will not kick in until you are 30 feet out. On my next flight I will test it, I am that confident ;-)

    Well, It Finally Happened

Just to confirm you are saying like me that if you are within 30 feet it won't fly off like a crazy thing?

    Enable GPS mid flight

Oh yeah its fraught with danger especially on signal loss but I was surprised with the behaviour, perhaps I am used to DJI products and updating a home point. In this situation I would have liked to have gained height and used GPS for stable hover accepting that a RTH would not be possible...
