I fixed the cable and plugged it in. It seems now that I am getting an initialization error. Same thing if I plug straight into the board. The led status is flashing red and is making a tone. I ordered a usb programmer cable, hopefully nothing is too wrong.

Thank you very much. I stopped what I was doing when I saw the wire color mismatch. I looked up your drone repair project and found the blurb about wire colors. So thank you for the clarification! I am going to try and repair the gui connector and see what happens.

The battery is not plugged in. It was slid in but not plugged in when the photo was taken

I took the upper shell off again and I found that I must have pinched the USB programming tool wire lead as seen in the photo. Is it ok to remove that harness and plug the receiver in directly as seen in the second photo?

I can see that the RC module is flashing orange inside the body, but after initiating the binding sequence, the RC never shows on the remote..

Like I said, the casing broke and the battery pack inside got flipped upside down when I put it back together. That caused the polarity to be swapped. I plugged it just as you'd expect. I haven't taken it back apart yet to see where it burned. I am assuming it is the main board.

so I dropped my battery and it broke out of the case. I put it back together and plugged in only to find it was upside down and magic smoke came out. What do i need to replace? Has anyone replaced just the components that burn when this happens?

Does anyone else have any advice for me? I have reloaded the drone firmware and dug out my other ST16 and it says the same thing. Im about to give up on Yuneec altogether...

I found my other ST16 and I have the same issue, will not go into smart flight mode.
