Hello all. This question has been asked before but there wasnt really a clear answer. Will the H fly below take off altitude? Im going to be attempting to 3D model roughly 85' vert by 150' horizontal of sheer lake bank. The issue is there is no beach at the bottom and this is just a test run to see plausibility and its not economical to rent a pontoon boat for this test. I have seen some answers in a previous thread stating its possible and some saying its not. There were even some comments that were right off topic. All im looking for is if you have flown below take off altitude and how or if you tried and couldnt. Maybe we can find a solution together.

Thanks everyone

This was answered in another thread.
Yes, you can fly below your take off altitude.

One thing you have to be aware of, though, is that once your controller is effectively above the H there will be a slight drop in the strength of your control signal to the aircraft and also a drop in the signal power that the aircraft is transmitting back to you. This is for obvious reasons: Receiving and transmitting antenna on the aircraft are positioned towards the underside of the aircraft to optimize for the pilot being at a lower level than the aircraft.

Of course, this will not pose an issue over shorter distances...it will only become a feature if you are a long way out.
