In my continued quest to become all knowing about my H, I now have a newbie gimbal mount question.
I've had the rubber shock absorbers come loose in routine flying. Predominately in situations when flying into the wind and balls to the wall. Fortunately, one end has remained in place most times, however once, one of the front rubbers came loose on both ends and got pushed back and sandwiched between the two plates, so I didn't loose it. So my questions are;
Why aren't all four corners retained? I assume it's for easier breakaway in a crash but wondering if it's something to consider.
Can you buy just the stock rubbers? I've seen them packaged with other gimbal parts but not just the rubbers. I've also found an 8 pack of aftermarket units but they appear to be somewhat longer requiring all four to be changed. Rumor (i.e. reviews) has it that these units stay in place better. To replace all four of the stock units leads me to my last question;
Does the piece with the rail mounts that attaches to the H, come apart from the top section so you can get to the top of the rubbers? If so how?
As always, thank you for your help!
