New DJI Camera

That's 11oz without a lens and if you 4K you need an external recorder. Then you need a gimbal that can handle that weight and in the end you have a combo that weighs more than the H. The H can fly a camera and gimbal combo that's at best 100grams heavier than stock

Yes that is why I listed the weight for the body and also started by saying it would not go on the Typhoon H.

I didn't say long zoom. I said a little zoom, you said long zoom. :)

Hexcopters are stable camera platforms and even the Little H is stable enough for a little zoom 2 or 3x would be great.

Don't tell that to DJI since they are selling that $900 camera with zoom (OP) to fit the Inspire a quadcopter.

Don't get me wrong I agree a lot of zoom would create all sorts of challenges. Even if you could keep it stable, tracking anything moving would be very difficult. But I never said a lot of Zoom. We are talking about a camera like the DJI camera at the beginning of this post which has a 3.5 Optical zoom.
It's not for everyone but that doesn't mean it can't be done.
Believe it or not it works this is not the first zoom lens put on a Drone camera.

Just my $0.02
As I said before, if you want it, and there is market to sell to, they will make it.

But if you are just looking for a little more focal distance (a rare thing in the UAS world) then yeah, it makes more sense. But people that are shooting long vistas on a green field in New Zealand are also clamoring for it. Of course they are going to make something everyone is asking for and as I said a long time before the Z3, they will make it.

DJI is doing a 3.5x optical the 2x digital zoom is 1080p only Don't forget in a lens this small the f-stop is going to float in DJI's application its going from a f/2.8 at the wide to a f/5.6 at the tele end

Here's Yuneec's implementation of a zoom..... It's hilariously bad

Hey, at lest they are playing 70 porn music which is exactly what I said a zoom on a drone would be.

YOU DON'T SHOW ZOOMS, you show pushes. On the ground it's a dolly push, you want to show it and if you want to show a zoom then you do it for an effect, again, like in the 70s scenes in Blow and Boogie Nights.

Here is a GREAT video that I just found on this (unless you are JUST trying to change focal distance that a ZOOM is not to be filmed but done, while a PUSH on a dolly track is to be recorded). Of course, my mantra of, YOU MUST KNOW the rules in order to BREAK THE RULES is shown here in this little video I found. Below it is a video of people that use the ZOOM for effect. Blow uses it for effect to show it is old. Some of the other ones are old kung fu movies which was a Chinese method of showing action on a quick shot but also some more modern films that wouldn't touch the lens without reason.

Here is a video showing some purposeful zoom for effects (with some exception. Again just found with a youtube search). ****NSFW (at the very end). The shots in here that don't look like traditional zooms where the background appears to move and the focal point stays in the same place is an old camera trick that is actually a zoom and a dolly. I'll post some of those separately and explain what they are after this one. **Disclaimer: I am not a DP, this is just general knowledge.

***HAS THE SAME THUMBNAIL AS BELOW BUT DIFFERENT VIDEO

Now when you know the rules, you can break them. Here is the most famous of what's called the "Vertigo Shot" or "Vertigo Move".

It is created by keeping he principle at THE SAME FOCAL DISTANCE while pulling the camera back at the EXAXT SAME speed making the background appear to move while the principle appears to stay at the same focal distance. Its a trick meant to cause confusion, fear and anxiety. It is a great shot but if you need to understand these things to do these things. I realize that this has nothing to do with aerial photography but understand why we have zooms and not just "to get closer" when YOU HAVE A FLYING bird I think while help drive my point home. For aspiring DPs, only use this shot if you have a REALLY good reason too as some people call it the "student film shot" because every student film tries to put it in. Trust me, I taught at two schools.

One of the most famous vertigo shots. He's anxiously watching the kids play, thinking a shark could come any second and bam, we are worried, not because of his eyes, but because of the movement of the camera. See how it works? The camera dollys back and there is an AC or a DP pulling back focus so the focal distance stays the same AT THE same time we are pulling back. We don't need 3.5 zooms on aerial photography and if you do, I suggest a better camera and bird. Ugh! Please don't make my Phantom 5 cost $4000. When I shoot close, I use my non-toy cameras like the Matrice with a Ronan and a DSLR. You will never get a professional camera or even a very good one on these things!

The shot was created by the late great, Alfred Hitchcock on the film "Vertigo" hence the name, "Vertigo Effect"

Go to 45 seconds (its the quick shot down the stairs). Hitchcock = Genius.

It has then been taken and used to great effect in many films.

My point is that what do you want the zoom for? Other than the ONE person that actually said he wants it to change focal length which WE DONT NEED TO DO because we have a flying camera, there is almost ZERO use for a 3,5 zoom lens on a flying camera.

Don't be a sucker and let them fool you because you don't understand what a zoom is for, You are not on a tripod and if you want to change focal lengths which are basically infinite, MOVE THE BIRD. Please don't make the cost of our hobby go up by having useless optical zooms. So many of you are going to be disappointed and of course they are going to give it to us. Go read my posts. I've been saying it for a couple years that its only a matter of time before they say if these idiots want optical zooms, we will sell it to them.

If millions of people asked me to sell them a dull knife, I would.

Hey, at lest they are playing 70 porn music which is exactly what I said a zoom on a drone would be.

It's better than 70's porn music it's "Shaft" and that's what yuneec is giving us. Until the Spacecam Maximus (which is really an outgrowth of the Westcam XR Head that went on to be the basis for the AH-64 Mast Mounted electro optical sight) came along you wouldn't put anything longer than maybe a 150mm lens up on a stabilized mount in the film industry now you can stabilize a 300mm lens but that mount costs ~$400,000

Yuneec, you paying attention!! You had better pick up the pace in regards to camera options. This is similar to what a lot of us are looking for. PLEASE!!!!!!!!

Not really a Typhoon H comparison, bigger question should be why isn't Yuneec rolling out a cheaper camera on their H920 bird with upgraded hardware. That would be the true inspire killer. Even the H920 with a glass Lens cog03+ would have people taken notice. My guess with the H9 you would have 30+ air time with a 03+ hanging under it. Just need the 720hd feed.

I, for one, think the H aligns more with the Inspire from a CRAFT standpoint. To me, that makes it apples to apples. I think too many people compare the H to the Phantom by using price point as the standard as opposed to the aircraft itself. From a DESIGN standpoint, the H is a magnitude beyond the Phantom, which is essentially a souped-up 350QX which many of us were flying 5 years ago. Same old. Same old, except the camera and software.

Just telling it like it is. FWIW and BTW, I own all of them, including a P3 and a P4.

Hello wilson, i own right now a Q500 4K and read alot before making my purchase, because i wanted to upgrade to the H or a Phantom 4 .

Sadly and i need to say sadly cause the way it looks and the support part etc iv always liked more Yuneec !! I choosed a Phantom 4, i just couldnt see same options for flying and recording on the H than the Phantom 4 , and comparing stock camera vs stock camera , phantom 4 wins, IM using it now for a small bussines company in los cabos mexico .

I havent received my Phantom 4 still waiting for it to arrive , will be next week around Agost 5.

Reasons why being a yuneec fan , decided on a phantom 4:

1.-Speed..... i fly my drone in the beach and following boats, wave runners or just Simply having fun , was a #1 changer.
2.-Camera...iv seen on many reviews , i have more customisible options onphantom 4 than an H cgo3+ and just in auto mode , Phantom 4 also wins ...
3.-Antenna Range.... EVEn i have my Q500 4k with an Intelite antenna installed, its always been a problem reaching even 1KM witha good video signal( I also moded the aircraft with an antenna Out of the cgo3) It helped , but still im below 1KM range..here im also positive phantom has much better signal ....
4.-Track object: This was also a really downbreaker , this way ill just focus on camera settings......without a second operator to help me.
5.- So many apps to do so many things with the drone, loved them.... i really think this is nice, as im less limited in thing to do woth my drone, professionally and to have fun .

Im ataching a photo ( some dust on the photo but they are no scratches etc ) of my drone just so people dont start thinking something strange about my post lol . I will sell my drone by the way once
phantom 4 arrives.... if anyone interested.... Never crashed , perfect conditions....already moded ... around $800.00
probably with many extra stuff.

What do you think by owning all the drones ?
Whats your own opinion.

I have to say that even i order a phantom 4 i will always be watching yuneec to see if they have something that draw me in again .... i love their support,
their community , the way their drones looks, which are amazing( beleive it or not only caus eth eway it looks was a hard decision) . And the performance is also great , but needs much more to be added for the money......

And sorry for my bad english is not my natal language....20160725_145402.jpg
