I liked your ideas, I just did a bit more by painting the corresponding arms the same colors. Lowes sells Rustoleum neon flour scent paint in four colors (yellow, orange, pink and green) just a test fly and it made all the difference.

My eyes are old and pretty useless after my H is more than 800 up and away. I solved this problem by having this strapped on my belt.
