Typhoon H Batteries

Wow $63, that is a bit much for one connector. I would pay $63 for a pair but that seems a lot for one. Just my opinion.

Anyway I bought a do it yourself connector from a user here but had issues with getting the spring pins to fit properly. So I cannot use them.

Anyone know where to buy the small spring pins? Maybe I can fix it.
Or does anyone know what they are as far as type/size so I can Google for them. I have no idea what size they would be etc...

Get the glow in the dark one it's 50 bucks on eBay.

Be careful commenting on Ralphy's prices, he doesn't take it well.

Dude I sell a charger kit for 29 dollars price is cheap. Trays are 35 for all forum members too.

No one wants to put them together ...duh that takes skill and time to do it right therefore you gotta pay for my time and skill.

People just love to complain. Its like shut up and pay.

You know full well what I am talking about. Over 100 bucks (£72)for a tray only a few weeks ago and now 35.....proves I should be your, what was it you said, pricing specialist?

DIY Trays and charger kits have always been 30-35 for forum members since day one buddy.

Shall I go dig out the very post you had a go at myself on with the over 100 bucks tray?

Do you want that embarrassment or just man up and say honestly you had a change of mind and seen sense......

Edit- I commend you giving money to charity regardless, nice gesture.

Cant see what the issue is, the stl files for trays and adaptors/plugs/sockets are freely avilable on Thingyverse. Get the files take to your local 3d print shop or use your own, 10 mins with a soldering iron.
Or pay someone else to do it. The choice as they say is yours....

Treb, there is no issue as the files are available now. They were not at the time though and thankfully modellers have put them online for the masses to print now.

What is it with you. The tray has always been 35 bucks for the DIY to every forum member.

The tray assembled is over 100 bucks except today for labor day.

Embarrassment ?? None why?

Do as you please, yes by all means get all the files on thingiverse print it and fly it's so simple no one has done it in 3 months. Lol

All talk wasting

The best they can do is copy what I did months ago. I have yet to see one fly a 8000 multistar over 20 minutes and not melt.

There's a better newer tray coming out in the 25th ;P with 20 dollar trade in upgrades to anyone who bought the first version plug and fly Lifetime.

Well in light of your response I will speculate.

There is no way on earth anything in this bird makes enough heat to melt plastic no matter the battery you put in it. If it does melt there is a fault...... Fact....scare mongering again sir.

Listen as an educator i make $50 + an hour im done educating you for free. Fly the H with the multistar 8000 and temps will reach anywhere between 120F to 145F in the battery bay depending on outdoor ambient temps. Go ahead and fly it and report back because i have yet to see ONE successful flight

I fear for your students with your attitude and childish postings that were deleted by mods. Thankfully i won't need to fear for you making money on your h parts, won't happen with your attitude and better priced competitors thankfully.

Since you want to charge for education i will make sure and tell everyone you ask for something on here to look at the above post and decide if you are the type of person they should be helping.

Oh and for the record, you never educated me on a thing, quite the reverse in fact if people care to look who gave you a lot of lipo info when you first appeared round here. Quite obvious your motives now though...... $$$$$

'I have yet to see one fly a 8000 multistar over 20 minutes and not melt.'

Oh dear Ralphy,

If temps' in the battery bay are hot enough to melt any or all of the home made ABS trays I've seen that really does not bode well for ANY home made tray.

ABS having a glass transition temp off approx. 105 degs C (221 degs F) and is usually extruded around 230 degs C (446 degs F)
Lipos max (safe?) temp ceiling is around 60 degs C (140 degs F) before irreparable damage will be sustained.

So in theory any 20 min flight with a 8000 multistar battery resulting in a MELTED ABS tray means a temp of somewhere between 220 to 300 degs F will have been reached....

Resulting in a damaged/scrap battery at the very least.

If all this is true I certainly hope your new tray is made from something resembling 'unobtainium' otherwise claims for wrecked Typhoon H's may well be coming your way.

However as a positive here is one of your satisfied customers using your tray with HiV 8000's flying for 30 Mins and presumably having no complaints he is also claiming many 30min flights on this setup. Do you think he should be warned about the melting tray issue by not following the manufactures advice?

Lovely post my friend download.jpg

Just got a spare Typhoon H 5400 mah original Yuneec battery and decided to cycle it on my charger. I first charged it to capacity and then did a discharge at near 1C. The photo shows the results! I was shocked to say the least.
