Went to work this morning, with the same drones, and same routine, but before you will say “mine fly’s solid” mine was nowhere in the same league as yours, and I’m flying the latest and the greatest firmware Build 822 w/ app patch 829.

Weather this morning:
Cloudy
65F
10mph
1 kp index

My average flight distance was 500ft, ceiling at 80ft. Today was just an ordinary day, with the same routine and same workflow. During my first initial 822 flight review, I noticed the “ascending syndrome” where the H Plus would climb without right stick input, and it came back this morning. But, no biggie smalls, I landed and did a compass calibration, cycled the power to both craft and ST16s and got the H Plus 10ft off the ground and it hovered rock solid.

As I was flying, and reached 200ft lat, 80ft. alt. the H Plus was getting multiple hiccups in under 10mins of flight. My status connectivity indicators showed green. RC 14 and at Drone 20. Second attempt with a fresh battery, but this time, the H Plus would not arm.

So, I benched the H Plus for a bit and continued working, using my backup drone. Everything went smoothly, and I then proceeded in figuring of what’s going on, with the H Plus.

First attempt.
I got a messages that I’ve never gotten with 784.

*NOT ARMING: Preflight checks failed

*PREFLIGHT FAIL : EKF HIGH IMU GYRO BIAS

Second attempt.
- Power cycled, waited for a minute or two and it finally armed, and flew to the area where it raised concerns. The H Plus showed the same signs of interference, but this time around, I had to fight to bring the H Plus down, because as soon, as ease up on the throttle the craft would climb up, and this time, I had to fight to get the H Plus back to the launch pad.

After it finally landed, I checked my message box, and here are some new messages that I haven’t gotten with Build 784.

*MANUAL CONTROL LOST: 2,change to auto loiter.

*MANUAL CONTROL THE INTERRUPTION(at t=963291 ms)

*MANUAL CONTROL THE INTERRUPTION(at t=816532 ms)

784 in my experience cannot fly past 2500ft in areas where I fly, and in the heavy construction site, 784 can reach half of the distance of 822. 822 has less video interruptions than 784, but 822, I found that has intermittent video freeze than 784. 784 does not freeze, but will have pixilations, which is workable.

I tested 822 during a fair weather day, and always at VLOS distance tes, and minor stress test. 784, after the compass relocation, it was able to fly behind structures doing inspection at 700ft lat, and would place the H Plus in the middle of the structured beams to where I would only rely on my monitor to navigate. 822 cannot fly behind structures, but my connectivity are all solid green. I would fly 784 to where the Satellite to RC would drop to 3.

Third and final test.

I was already getting frustrated and this build 822 has wasted my time and work productivity, again. Went back to my office, 20min away, charge the batter and reverted to 784, once done, back to the pit and flew the same flight pattern. RC 5 satellites, Drone 12 GPS connections. It flew the grid, and finished the job.

Conclusion: Confused again, but I cannot be wasting my personal time to TEST in my worksite! But I used this craft for work, and she works well outside of work! So, I flip flopped back to 784.. sigh.......

My standard mantra; if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Stay with what works and leave the experimenting to times, places, and people that won’t cost you your business.

I was just reading the chatters in GITHUB and came across this Preflight Checks · PX4 User Guide

I am tempted to download the agroundcontrol it has been a while, since I’ve used it. But you are certainly correct, I will play it safe specially with the new season.

It is disturbing that most fixes for these errors are behind the pw protected hidden menu.

I actually recalibrated, when I noticed the new anomalies. No avail.

Keywords that’s been throwing out is “connectivity improvements”

CES 2019 was January, right?

I'm still waiting on the firmware for the H+ to settle down before I consider a purchase. Perhaps in a few more months. I don't need to be a beta tester for Yuneec. I had enough fun learning the quirks of the H480 over the last 2 years.

There's just a lot of uncertainty right now that's beyond comprehension.

The H+ sUAS feels like a pretty solid platform mechanically, and while I'm sure rDonson doesn't want roll the dice on firmware received... its unlikely that a H+ purchased today would have the 822/829 in question. It likely would have been built and stored several FW versions ago. I may be off base, please correct me if so.

I agree, the Plus is the best sUAS I’ve flown to date. My goto ship in my arsenal of fleets. The 822/829 FW is current, and you’re right again, the on the shelf FW might be from the later build. 757 perhaps.

I can’t remember what mine came with in January when I bought it, but I did have an upgrade presented to me:784.

That’s where mine is now and will stay.....for now.

So the major concern is wifi connect statbilty?

So the major concern is wifi connect statbilty?

Yes, no, maybe so. Since on the TH Plus, I am not able to see which channel is dead or good, and I’m not able to select a clear channel to use. But the symptoms points to a WiFi conflict, but am unclear, since I cannot see the channels.

I have not, yet experimented, with the ‘FlightController’ care to share on how to experiment on the tx gps signal, WiFi txRf values?

I can expedite what your beta testers lack, because I work in construction sites, where there are lots of connection traffic.
