I have some 5 and 6 yr. old batteries that are still fine,although I never get more than 12-15 minutes per battery. I am happy with that,can't keep my old head up much longer than that anyways. Properly stored at 3.5 v. per cell,I think. I just use storage feature on my Venom Dual pro charger
