How do you guys deal with the batteries - in a fire proof case and separate from the H?? Looking to take my H to the Dominican in Feb.

I have a question about storage for the experts. I'm new to drones and lipo's. I've picked up a Hitec X4 charger/discharger and plan on having my batteries in storage mode when not in use or over the winter months. My question is - do you just plug it in and let it sit on your shelf or work...
