Bogus 8000 feet MLS glitch

I have a new Typhoon H and while I was about to start a CCC route the controller screen went blank and a message popped up saying that it wouldn't operate over 8000 feet MLS. - I am in South Carolina and the highest point in South Carolina is 3560' so obviously something is being very weird...
