    Offline Data

"If you are asking if the H520 uploads data during flight to a cloud immediately the answer is NO. In opposite to DJI the H520 does not supply the Chinese with all you flight data ;-)." Exactly what I'm asking... cheers h-elsner!

    Offline Data

I'm bidding for a job with my company and have been asked about offline/local data mode. I gather some of the DJI models' data are 'intercept-able' during flight. Is this the case with the H520? I think not but can't remember where I saw this. I did search the forum but don't really know how to...

    Shutter Speed for Surveys

Thanks guys... all noted. I've removed the filter and it sounds like that will make all the difference. Got one planned for today so will know for sure then!

    Shutter Speed for Surveys

The past couple of surveys I've done have suffered motion blur. I checked the meta data and they're all at 1/30, Far too slow for a moving craft. Question is though, why is it taking them at 1/30? A few things to note... 1. It's in auto mode 2. There's an ND filter on the camera. I would have...

Determining altitude and spacing for surveys

Thanks for the comments guys. Haven't had chance to look into them properly yet but definitely will - just wanted to pop in to say thanks... I'll let you know how I get on!

Determining altitude and spacing for surveys

How does everyone determine altitude and spacing for surveys. I've done a couple now but it's been a bit of 'finger in the air' estimation when setting these parameters. Happy with the results but I'd be far more comfortable coming up with a way of setting them a bit more methodically. For...

Flight Programming with Google Earth .kmz file

I've given this a go and have gotten as far as being able to import the kml file. I found that I had to 'plan a survey' and hit the button in the middle of the grid where I'm given an option to change it to a circle or a polygon and 'load kml'. I loaded it but all that happened was that the...

Flight Programming with Google Earth .kmz file

Ah, I see what Tuna means now... I thought we were talking about the line in the .kmz Ok, understood. I think the easiest way would be to split the survey and model into sections (there may well be lots of them) and take it from there. For now, I'm just trying to get this pipe route into data...

Flight Programming with Google Earth .kmz file

That sounds far too technical for me. Will keep you all posted though :)

Flight Programming with Google Earth .kmz file

Hi to all, I've been asked to survey a proposed pipeline route in the UK. I have a .kmz file of the route and need to do 250m either side of it for its 28km length. Does anyone know a way I can import the route into Data Pilot Planner software instead of guessing waypoints? TIA!

    3D Survey of a *** - Pointers Welcome

Thanks guys... all stuff to think about. I think I'm going to split the mission in two but keep the altitude the same for both missions at a level which will require a smaller spacing between the grid lines at the top of the *** where it will be closer to ground level. I'll let you know how I...

    3D Survey of a *** - Pointers Welcome

Hi folks, I'm due to have another go at a photogrammetry survey with my H520. This one is of a *** in Wales which obviously slopes quite steeply. I'm looking for some general guidance/pointers, mainly around altitude. When planning it in Data Pilot, the altitude is said to be 'relative'. I...
