Datapilot restarting when entering survey or mission

Had a similar issue with Datapilot App crashing just last week. I fully uninstalled the app from the ST16S and then reinstalled it. That fixed it. Make sure to make a not of your camera connection passwords before you do this. I spent a good 10 mins trying various passwords!

Photogrammetry Apps Comparison (by a noob)

Meh, it seems pretty quick and wasn't at all taxing on the PC. Easy to use and all the usual outputs but for the money nothing special. Pix gives much better overall package if you want to spend the money. Personally I'm loving ODM more and more, the more that I use it.

Photogrammetry Apps Comparison (by a noob)

I feel the same, the initial cost of setting up seriously in this game can be pretty high. I've invested in a good PC and am using a mixture of open source software. How do you store your propellers?

@claudius62 How often do you recommend replacing the storage box? I'm wondering how often I can write pringles off as a business expense! ?

Photogrammetry Apps Comparison (by a noob)

Not sure, as I haven't needed to do agriculture stuff myself but I did see Pix4D had NDVI and so did PrecisionMapper, as a separate (but free) algorithm. Maybe have a play about with PrecisionMapper as it's free and see how you get on. I'd be really interested to hear about it!

Couldn't agree more. Adding a mavic or something to your kit is a good plan if you're already a real estate or wedding photographer but it's not really what the H520 was designed for.

Thanks for adding! Pix4D feels like the way to go if one has the £'s (or a company to shell out for it!) I looked at PhotoScan too but decided it was a step or two beyond drone photogrammetry. I was reading about Capturing Reality and it does look good. I also really like the look of ArcGIS...

Thanks, glad it's helpful. I just wished I'd saved the output images to be able to share. Unfortunately I deleted them to make room on my rapidly shrinking drive (these image sets and outputs take up so much room!) before I thought to share my bumbling learning!

I've just posted a thread on the Help section about this. I haven't gone in to the 3D stuff as I haven't got my head around that bit fully yet! Click here to see the thread: Software comparison
