    Only back for a question

I have loved photography since my late 20s. (1978 - present) I started with landscape/wildlife photography. In my later years I took up studio/outdoor portrait photography, specializing in high school seniors. For about 10 years, slightly before retirement and about 5 years after, I had a studio...

Drone Insurance for Amateurs flying in a public place.

This is the response I got from Angie Martin at the AMA: "Yes – our members fly a wide variety of platforms. Drones, fixed wing, control line, helicopters, multi-rotor, you name it. Actually, the liability policy that comes as a membership benefit covers RC boats and ground vehicles as well...

Drone Insurance for Amateurs flying in a public place.

You are right, I shouldn't assume. I will probably contact them now and find out for sure.

Drone Insurance for Amateurs flying in a public place.

If you join the AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics) you get liability insurance with your membership. Another thing I have found out is the general public thinks we can "zoom" in from the heights we fly. I have set a few people straight that when we are up 100, 200, 300 etc. they just look like a...

    Most recent firmware update

I have read time and time again about pilots that have upgraded either software or firmware and have been sorry they did. Because of this I have never upgraded either on my Typhoon H or my DJI P3S. I have had no problems thus far. Is there a good reason I don't know about to upgrade the software...

Would love feedback in regards to color

As a photographer (portrait and high school senior) I can relate to the compromise thing. I always tried to set everything as it should be in camera, but sometimes had to adjust in PS. I would calibrate my monitor and then set skin tones in the images. After that, everything else would fall...

    Worst crash story

I have no images to show, but will say two things......trees are drone magnets......and drones sink like a rock in water. Both happened on the same crash. The drone is fried but all plastic is good. Am using as "replacement parts". :)

How to view and print out your route you flew

I found and downloaded the UAV Toolbox and am now figuring out how to use it. As far as I can see, it will do what I was wanting to do. Appears to be a pretty neat program. Thank you for the info DoomMeister!

How to view and print out your route you flew

Have had my Typhoon H for a little over a year and have pretty much just used it to take images and a little video, but nothing else. I have seen people show views of routes they have flown and am wondering how you can access this info to view it. I do not put an SD card in the controller when...

    New H owner

To bad they can't make the micro SD cards a little smaller! (that was sarcasm) It can be hard for us old guys to fumble around and insert the card in the camera. Hard to tell if you get it inserted properly sometimes. As a photogrpher...and an old man....I kind of miss the old CompactFlash cards! :)

So You Want a Commercial Drone

I'm with you. I'm in it for the fun and taking photographs for myself. I enjoy seeing landscape images from angels I could never achieve before. A Typhoon H and DJI P3S are working great for me! :)

    Filters

rdonson....which filter do you find yourself using the most? I seem to gravitate towards the ND8.
