I had the same, was going to suggest this but I see u figured it out, when u run the calibration u have to put the slider in the middle position , if left in top position the drone thinks the top is now the middle and never goes past it, hence 45 degrees

Dji definitely make some nice drones, I always fancied getting an inspire but for the money I think I’ll stick with the yuneec for a bit longer. I just can’t seem to find any honest reviews for dji on YouTube, it’s like dji own the people creating the content.
