Yes although this link is very informative it does not give specific maintenance instructions... For instance I was under the impression due to certain threads i have read on this page that you should never fully charge your LiPo batteries prior to storage after use... So I guess my question...

Should I get the aftermarket battery charger... Do you think that would help..?

From my understanding from this discussion.. The way you have always understood to deal with battery shelf life no longer applies with these LiPo type batteries... We have always understood that a battery has a shelf life that is determined by how much you maintain a topped off level of charge...

Same thing happened to me... I just bought it yesterday and now it's a pile of rubble... Even if they do send me a new one I would rather get the Inspire 2... I had been researching for a few months and it came down to these 2 drone to use for real estate arial photography... I went the cheap...
