    First Time Above The CLOUDS!

Nice Vid! A little bit of a different circumstance on my end.....cool morning over a warm lake makes for some nice low lying fog.

    Discussion on Compass Calibration

I get 1 compass error on almost every flight. It is early in the flight,I believe when the landing gear is raised for some reason. Used to calibrate every trip to my vacation home 300 miles away but I don't bother anymore and haven't calibrated in over a month and several 300 mile trips...

Thing is, the H is SUPPOSED to land on it's own

I was under the impression that it isn't wise to start a new flight with a less than fully charged battery? Seems many crashes and other issues have been identified through telemetry data when the pilot has taken off with a less than full battery....no? If you're really serious about...

I have flipped my H on landing 3 times now. ENOUGH!

Made several practice landings today in somewhat windy conditions.....no issues settling the craft lower than I usually do and had some really smooth landings and one or 2 with a slight bounce. I feel fairly confident in landing on level surfaces but this can be a top heavy and unforgiving...

I have flipped my H on landing 3 times now. ENOUGH!

Very helpful vids in this thread for new H owners .Thanks for those taking the time to do so I'm assuming the flip you did with the sticks in rabbit mode would have been less likely to happen in turtle mode? At the same time, I guess being in turtle mode gives you less of a chance to make...

I have flipped my H on landing 3 times now. ENOUGH!

I have great video of my flip landing....you can actually see the shadow and movement. of drone in the vid. And after watching JulesTeo's landing video ,I will concede it is a rough landing. However...I think it was a combination of the soft landing gear material and that material...

I have flipped my H on landing 3 times now. ENOUGH!

No....I have never tried that(as of yet) A place I use often(my backyard) for the launch has a small picnic table propped up fairly level with bricks for levelness under the legs but there are 2 trees overhanging the table. So I fly up about 6 feet and it takes a bit of finesse to clear the...

I have flipped my H on landing 3 times now. ENOUGH!

The only thing that may have possibly happened in my case today was prop wash from landing on mostly asphalt with some gravel mixed in....Like I said, I usually have horrible areas where I launch from(hence the hand catching)...so this time I went to the flattest area I could find and it back...

I have flipped my H on landing 3 times now. ENOUGH!

Well....that's it for me. After hand catching for 90 % of my flights, I decided to try landing again after reading this thread. Flipped today for the first time ever in nearly perfect conditions. Maybe I was too focused on doing everything to a tee and trying to leave left lever pushed down and...

Can the H make this journey?

Didn't even know what a GetterBack was until I read your post.....ordered two from amazon...should be here tomorrow. Would be nice to at least recover some parts should the unthinkable:oops: ever happen. That's the best explanation of how things "should" work that I have read....Thanks...

Can the H make this journey?

That actually gives me an idea.......I could launch from my boat and see how close I get to the other side and if I run into problems take the boat after it. except I wouldn't have as ideal conditions probably.

Can the H make this journey?

Thanks again Steve....still very much in a learning process with the H. This is my first GPS drone. But it is so much easier to fly than my other sub $100 drones which were an invaluable learning experience. Hmmm.....may be smart for me to wait for the lake to refreeze before attempting...

Can the H make this journey?

Point taken....and I do plan on taking the H on my boat and exploring many areas of the lake from it but just thought it would be nice to fly right from my backyard to the other side of lake. Your assumption is correct. I guess I am just trying to find out what the limits are for the H...
