Also, if you must cancel RTH, slide the sport mode switch on briefly. It will stop in it's tracks and allow you to maneuver around any obstacles to a better RTH location. -

It is adequate for this task. I just did this at a friend's beach house we are remodeling and it worked perfectly. It's stable enough to get very close too. -
