This morning I flew my H out 3,800 ft gradually climbing to 400 ft altitude before I got a video glitch. Living where I do in SE Phoenix, Arizona with no really large or tall trees, there are no obstructions between the ST16 and the H. So for me, I do not see the need for a third party antenna to extend my video range. I'll post a video I took this morning in the next few days.

I have flown to 3700 ft out. There was a fee trees about but generally open space. Video was working but getting very choppy at this point. I did manage to change to stills and fire a shot off.
I lost sight of it and hit RTH and all was fine.
However, there are connection issues, last night I lost video at about 50 ft (right above me almost) with clear line of sight. It took about 2 mins to reconnect.
So there are things that a 3rd party may help with, I have one on order. I don't actuall percieve the need for flying further than 3700 ft though except in unusual circumstances
