There has been some discussion as of late in public about the way we moderate the site and Off Topic threads. As a result, this has resulted in a few members taking a short vacation on here. Because of that it is important to understand a little about what and how things are done.

First, if you have not taken the time to familiarize yourself with the Community Guidelines, I would suggest you do as it pertains to pretty much everything that is allowed or not allowed on here. Most people join sites and never read the Community Guidelines, and that is where misunderstandings and problems arise from. It is your responsibility to read them.

This site is privately owned and a global site, so what you may feel you have rights for, such as freedom of speech, are not the same on here. Yes, you can say your opinion and how you feel, but you must also remember the Community Guidelines when doing so. We allow a lot more to slide than you may feel we do because we are all only human and we all make mistakes.

In the Forums area, there is an area called Off Topic, the same one this post is in. This is a great area to discuss a lot of things that are not covered in the other Forums. BUT, it does not mean that it could not also go off topic.

If a member posts a new thread with a Topic, then that is what the Topic is about. When the conversation strays from the Topic, then it needs either a nudge back into the correct direction, or we remove content that is off of that Topic, and let you know in a message. Each message provides a link to what the content/post was that has been removed, and why.

You can contact the Mod that removed the content and discuss with us why it was removed, and we are more than happy to discuss it with you to find a resolution. BUT, if you for some reason do not like the way the conversation that we are having is going, posting the message to a public forum on here can get you removed as these conversations are to be kept private as per the Community Guidelines.

When members send a message to us and say they have no idea, well then it tells us you have not read the message that tells you why any given message has been removed. Keep in mind, we are not paid and volunteer our time to the community. So for us, there is no monetary incentive to Mod, other than we love the industry. None of us are power tripping or power hungry. Mods like that do not last as a Mod.

Again, PLEASE take the time to read the Community Guidelines.

Murray
