4 new ultrax batteries not charging in my original typhoon H+ charger. Original batteries charge fine.

Probably because they have higher voltage capacity? You need a third party charger when you start mucking around with non OEM batteries.

The OEM charger may have a time cut off built into the circuit as a safety feature. If so a larger capacity battery would require more time to charge at the 1/2C rate the OEM charger delivers and get cut off before being fully charged. As CraigCam mentioned, buy a better charger.

Hang on...

Are the Ultrax meant for the H Plus or the H480?

Have not heard of third party batteries being available for the H520 let alone the H Plus.

If the Ultrax are meant for the H480, they will not charge in the Plus charger, just like they will not charge in the DY5.

The Ultrax, for the H480, can be “used” in the H520 and H Plus; just not charged using the chargers meant for the high voltage LiPo batteries used in the H520 and H Plus.

That sound more like the issue at hand?

Jeff

P.S. note if using chargers with leads, the charging leads are different as well, between the Plus/H520 and H480 batteries.

Agreed... if you are trying to use UltraX H batteries, they will not work in the H Plus charger,
because of the difference in the contacts.

As others have recommended, you will need to get a 3rd party, multi brand charger such as

Hitec X2 AC Plus Black

and the corresponding cable for H batteries

H Battery Cable

and the corresponding cable for H Plus batteries

H Plus Battery Cable

I missed the “Plus” part. There’s no way an UltraX battery will connect to the Plus charger without a balance pin alteration.
