One of the dampers came loose in flight, probably the old one that was already in there. No I'm not going to kav because my wife put a brand new one in about twenty minutes. Here's the point. The brand new replacement has more threads and no bulb in the middle. Does this mean anything to you guys? I'm going flying in about an hour and will find out.

Has it become distorted? Possibly when fitting it?

And this is for your H, with the CGO3+ camera, correct? If my memory serves me and this is the case... no, unfortunately it is because they technically sent you the wrong part.

Using the OEM Parts pages from Vertigo Drones, the dampener you were sent is for the CGO3 camera...

CGO3 Dampeners

the correct ones for the CGO3+ as you mentioned have a single larger bulb design...

CGO3+ Dampeners

In the case of Vertigo Drones... show the CGO3+ dampeners as out of stock.

Happy you told me that. I'm trying to remember if they came with extra's. So I guess it's dangerous to use the cgo3 dampers with the cgo3t?

Not dangerous per say... but each is optimized to the gimbal of each camera... as well it is a bit of a research project... there are pilots on here that have liked the way the camera responds with the "wrong" set of dampeners... and others that find the camera reacts best with the dampener set designed for it.

I experimented with using the CGO3 dampeners on a gimbal with CGO3+ camera, that had been modified with the Peau 8.25mm lens. In that case, neither gimbal dampener was sufficient for general video with that lens.

this **** phone. Sorry. I figured it was too good to be true. I'm going back to best buy because I think they had some replacements. The bulbed ones on this one are flimsy and are probably old because the h I bought was the last yuneec drone in the store and it was there for a long time. after looking at the ones on there closely they are all weathered looking. Always something. A loud beeping noise came on with a blinking light so I knew something wasn't kosher and that's when I noticed something wasn't kosher.

Phone again. New one in the mail. I have two sets. One set has the bulbs and one doesn't. The one that I described says on the packet cgo3 with no plus sign. The other with bulbs says cgo3 p105 and the other says cgo3 101. That's the only difference. Nowhere does it say cgo3 plus. Confused. Best buy as usual knows nothing except that they know nothing.

IMHO the cgo3 p105... the p stands for +.

So I hope that the constant noise and blinking lights meant that the damper wasn't connected because the camera works but I wasn't about to fly it.

Noise and blinking lights on the CGO3+ or the H itself? Because there is nothing about mounting the dampeners that should affect the H, other than the camera.

First of all a strong warning: It is dangerous to use the short CGO3 ball type dampers on a CGO3+ gimbal.

Let me say that @Eagle's Eye Video is absolutely right about the dampers being designed for the camera/gimbal, and only the proper dampers should be used. Remember the two gimbals are different in design, one having 360° rotation and the other does not. Normally using the wrong dampers will only result in imaging issues.

However there is a serious problem if you use the shorter CGO3 ball type on the CGO3+: The wires that exit from the bottom gimbal plate can and will rub on the metal plate that is attached to the bottom-side of the upper gimbal plate. This will rub thru the insulation and short the wires to the metal plate, causing an instant voltage loss resulting in a crash. This has been reported by a member here who had this very thing happen.

My H Pro (Referb) for some reason came with the CGO3 ball type dampers, and when I read about the shorting problem I checked my wires and sure enough, they had started to rub thru the insulation on the metal plate, and before too much longer that would have happened to me! I immediately replaced mine with the taller 3-rib style that is suppose to be on the CGO3+. This gives the wires the space they need for clearance. One problem is that with the gimbal guard on, you cannot see this problem developing, you must remove the guard to see the problem.

Phew I'm confused. Well I'll try and fly it without the camera and see what happens. You guys are far ahead of me but I'm listening. I don't know if I'm supposed to mention another front runner drone or maker but it was more fun to fly and no obstacle avoidance and a WiFi problem and crashed several times because of the WiFi but the two I have still fly with amazing resilience but no 4k and it's a fish eye so I use it for fun, speed and pray to the drone god.

Hmm......... now what we needs heere is an investigation I here sayyy...

@DCH using the OEM Parts pages from Vertigo Drones...

CGO3 Dampeners

so these "stacked donut" dampeners are listed onsite as a part for the CGO3 camera for the Q

and these "ball" dampeners are for the CGO3+ with the H...

CGO3+ Dampeners

Are you saying these are reversed?

Are you saying these are reversed?
That is exactly what I am saying. I have seen this on Vertigo's website and was confused by it, figured they got the photos swapped. So I decided to go to Carolina Drones. But they screwed up, they showed the 3-rib and sent me the ball type.

Like my mama always said, "Buying drone parts is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what yer gonna git!"

Given the potential for disaster, someone should bring this to Vertigo's attention. ...Any volunteers?

Mine came with the ball type so if I have two ribbed ones and two ball ones is it going to be a Greek tragedy? This is starting to sound like a porn thread.

Well my flabber is aghast... the entire time I had my H Pro, I used Vertigo as a steady reliable parts source... so let me ask one further question. I had on more than one occasion, ordered the following, again from Vertigo...

CGO3+ Mount Set

When received they definitely were labeled as being specifically for the CGO3+. So the enclosed dampeners with that set were incorrect? I only ask because I used those specific sets the entire time I owned the H Pro. Also since I also owned a second CGO3+ with a longer lens, I swapped out cameras more often, than a typical pilot with only one camera.

Curiouser and curiouser...

So the dampeners on there should be all replaced with the taller ones instead? Both came in packets that say yuneec on them.
