Is it better to position the H behind or in front of you for watch me? How far to the side, how high, etc? I messed around with it yesterday using the Wizard and after watching the feedback, it seems like it was struggling to watch me. The camera was not even on me for a lot of the video.

Was it on Follow Me or Watch Me? If accidentally on Follow Me, the behavior will be as you describe. The Wizard can be tricky, I still have to carry the card to check the double presses.
If truly on Watch Me, raising the height will put you more into the picture. Where it is positioned laterally at the start does not matter much since it will begin doing its own thing. The ST16 affords good cam control if you can tote it with you.
