Would it be possible to load firmware for the E90 camera and gimbal to the C23 (they are essentially the same camera) and use it on an H520?
Thanks,
Stephen

until I had a crash recently I was using c23 on my h520. has for loading the e90 firmware not workable. when you connect the c23 to the h520 and bootup the controller you need to exit to android screen got to setting select wifi. the select c23 camera enter password. the back into datapilot then you should be able to fly.

Were you able to control the C23 camera in DataPilot (i.e. rotation, elevation, photos and videos, format micro SD, etc.)? Did the H520 telemetry come through the C23 to the controller?
Thanks,
Stephen

Very interesting. I have not seen anyone doing this successfully so more details would be helpful. I guess I should give it a try myself.

yes I did have full pan and tilt. I got to power up the remote and copy the picture screen shots. and post them

file 2013-12-31-19-18-24 and 2013-12-31-19-17-40 are c23 on h520 file 2013-12-31-19-21-03 is standard e90. note ap wifi is present when c23 is attached and when ap wifi Is not there it is actual e90

Excellent information, Terrence. Thank you.

I notice that in your screenshots with the C23, the distance from St16 to drone cannot be displayed. Says „no gps“ instead. (info box in the lower right corner)

Would you think this is related to using the C23?

In the normal setup I noticed this sometimes when the St16 itself has no proper GPS signal.

I get that error even with the e90 and other cameras as well. there is a issue with the st16s. when you change out the first battery or data pilot crashes out. the workaround is power switch set to on then slide battery in. then the st16s gps comes back online. flight control so far has been unaffected by this. it still logs on the home point.

Terrence,
It appears that the camera functions normally as an E90 without changing the firmware from the C23. I occasionally get the NO GPS as well, but everything works fine in spite of it. Interesting if the less expensive C23 can be used in place of the E90 and provide the same functionality and images?
Thanks,
Stephen

yes camera photo settings and video settings are identical. however to update the firmware on the c23 you need another st16s loaded with h plus software to get the c23 firmware then extract firmware to sd card the insert the sd card with firmware in to the c23 boot up h520 with c23 attached wait till the led changes color from purple to green and then wait 5 min after that then shut down h520 pull sd card from c23. the powerup st16s exit data pilot to android setting screen. now power up h520 with c23 camera. wait for the camera led goes green (make sure you have a sd card in c23 or led will be white.)on the st16s in android go to wifi setting select c23 enter password now backout of android settings and startup data pilot and you should be good from there.

So, to use a C23 on the H520, I need a second ST16S with the H Plus firmware loaded. As my ST16S is running DataPilot, and there seems to be no H Plus firmware online, how do you do that?

Do I need to load any new firmware onto the H520?

And can I go back to using the E90 on the H520 with DataPilot for surveys?
Thanks.

Thanks, terrence. As you have used the E90 and the C23, I'd be interested to know whether you think the C23 is the better camera for landscapes and video. The reason I am asking is because I have never been entirely happy with the images from my E90. I have a second ST16S that could be loaded with H Plus firmware, if such were available, and so the H520 and a C23 might be used with the H Plus firmware. I have it in my mind that any differences between the E90 and C23 may partly lie in the superiority of the H Plus camera programming. What do you think?
