Cheap Launch Pad

Hi, All.

If you launch off anything but grass a launch pad can help keep dust and dirt out of your motors and off your camera lens. I found these at the Wal-Mart site some of you may find them in your store. They are round and 40 inch dia. short shag, ( 1/2 inch and fine thread ) on the one side, but a rubbery non-slip surface on the back. I painted an H on the back side and it has worked out great. Rolls up for easy transport. Price, $20. see link and Picture .

Good job, we have a lot of sand here in Florida, sand stirs up from the rotor wash especially landing.

Well done Tom, good to see not everyone is spending big bucks on daft 'specialist' landing pads.
I use a bit of old industrial carpet cut into a circle, cost nothing

I want this one. Check the link above. Actually, I am purchasing it right now. I'll let you guys see when I receive it and put my Q500 4K on it.

One thing to note is that its 8"x8". I,m not sure if it will fit a Q comfortably. God thing is that you can attach 4 together and make a 16"x16" Landing Pad.

I think that is a kids toy mate, will be dead in a moment if the grass is wet.

You might be right. I didnt pull the trigger because its not big enoigh for my like. 4 of those attached together seems the perfect choice, but $60 for a helipad seems pricey.
