There was a railway line back in the 19th century used for mine workings further up the moor but that wasn't in the above video. Indeed, there is little evidence of it at all now even from the air.

I was flying again today taking off about 400 yards away from yesterday's take off point. I've yet to put today's footage through post production but when I do and uploaded the vid you'll be able to see the moor from a different perspective.

This area has a Public Place Protection Order on it and is managed by volunteer rangers and the environmental group 'Friends Of Crompton Moor' (FoCM). The local authority and FoCM has given me sole permission to fly the area and FoCM often use my services.
