Dumb Newbie Question: What is the purpose of the Circular metal ring provided with the H+ ?

Yuneec provides a metal ring that is the diameter of the C23 camera lens. At first glance I thought Yuneec was providing a UV protective filter... The ring is exactly the size of the C23 lens so it will NOT screw into the lens or slide over it. In addition, there is no glass in the ring. On the other hand, Yuneec did provide a lens cleaning cloth with it. Sorry to be so dense, but I have no clue what it is for (and there is no documentation on this item)...

OK, I found a video on YouTube (in German, and I don't speak German )

~ 11:50 into the video, but I did understand that it is an adapter ring of some sort...

OK, getting this sorted out now... At 34:20 he unscrews the protective filter provided by Yuneec and screws an ND filter into the adapter ring and then screws the assembly onto the C23. Still not sure why he didn't just screw the ND filter into the camera, but at least it is starting to somwhat make sense...

To summarize: the ring is a filter adapter ring.

From @Peggy , in another thread:
39mm is the thread size.
40.5 is the step ring size.
So if you have Freewell filters they don’t need the step ring

(The Freewell filters are for the E90 camera)
