I have a Typhoon H that has been working great until today. I turned on the ST16, which booted up fine, then the H , which found and bound to the ST16, evidenced by a purple light. But the St16 screen remained black, and an error message blinked " Unfortunately, FlightMode has stopped". And shows a "Yes" button. I push the home button and the screen comes on for a few seconds but goes back to the error message. I changed batteries, no difference, I re-booted both devices, no difference. I changed the ST 16 and i could fly. Does anyone know what the issue could be and if I can fix it?

Read the threads in the link below. It should help troubleshoot the problem.

Additionally, the ST16 does not give this mesage if the H is off. Turn the H on and the screen goes black and gives the error messge.

That's important. It gives hope you can access the PAD screen for troubleshooting, APP maintenance, factory reset, etc.

More to the point, you were recently looking into mapping programs to work with the H. The current issue, combined with those recent posts, hints there may be an APP or process that is trying to interface with the drone and failing (maybe overloading the ST16?).

Did you recently install anything, make any changes to the ST16 system or connect the ST16 to a PC for any reason?

Did you read the links and try anything from any of them?
I just woke up. It's 0600 here. I read this entire thread but my issue is different. My ST16 screen comes on and the fans are running, but as soon as thr H connects the screen goes black and the message "Unfortunately, FlightMode stopped".

Do a factory reset as a starting point. Make a new model, bind it and report.

The factory reset is sort of the "Final Assault" of home remedies.

Yes, a factory reset might work.
But a factory reset also might brick the system if there are unknowns involved.

A more conservative approach may be to continue with the Forum discussion to explore any less dramatic remedies that may be available.

No installations have been made.

Just do the factory reset. If there are no non-standard APPS installed, the "Factory Reset", as suggested by @Vaklin , is the easiest thing to do.
ST16 Factory Reset
Factory reset worked. I have not gone outside to fly yet, but all the inside my office checks that did not work yesterday are working now. Thanks to all. Now that I have some experts, 2 questions. On the files page is an app called "FlightLogParcer". What is it, what does it do, and how do I work it. #2, In the files screen, if you swipe down from the top right corner a drop down box appears. The upper left corner has a circle labeled "Owner" . I imagine that is for my name and photo. How do I enter that info?

I'm not the expert, but I'll take a shot at it:

You don't do anything with "FlightLogParcer". It's probably an APP that breaks up the raw flightlog data into related chunks that become the Flight Logs. @h-elsner might be able to provide better information on that one.

I think the owner circle is something left over from the source android. I don't think the circle itself works on the ST16 android. It may have been used on smartphones and tablets as part of the "LockScreen" feature. The lockscreen itself does work on the ST16 and you can include owner information (in text form) there if you select the option to "Display on Lockscreen". @DoomMeister might know more about that one.
