Its the old airport of Athens ,that is out of service from 2001. The International airport of Greece is also in Athens Athens International Airport - Wikipedia.

The law about sUAS operations in Greece is more strictly than every other country in Europe. The examinations for getting sUAS licence is almost the same as for PPL .

And yes i agree it was such a waste for too many years. Olympic Games of 2004 took place there.
A huge company named ,LAMDA, is now in charge for the creation of a world class Metropolitan Park covering an area of 2,000,000 sq.m. ,in place of the old airport.
