Hello fellow Canucks:

I was a little concerned by one of the new drone regulations that will come into effect on June 1st. It was in regards to not flying your drone near other drones. I put the question to Transport Canada. I told them that I have multiple drones and if I loan one to my brother-in-law, can we not fly together? This is the response that I received.

Thank you for contacting the Transport Canada Civil Aviation Communications Centre.

In regards to your inquiry, if all your drones are registered and your brother-in-law has his basic certificate. Then you could both fly together.

Should you need other information on civil aviation matters, please feel free to contact us via email at [email protected].

Best Regards,

This tells me that drone meets should also be allowed. Just a little clarification for our fellow Canadians.

Have a great day and Happy Flying.

It does require that a flight meeting with other pilots be coordinated with everyone involved, ie not that some people "happened" to be in the same airspace....
