Sonar sensor same as H480? It is a V2. Will have to compare it to a H480 Pro one to be sure.

E90. H520 only no parts the same as H480
There are a lot of connectors and very fiddly to re connect everything. The last few photos show how to re connect the ribbon cable when putting it back together. Just be patient with the little plugs.:p

You can see the filter is applied to the lens assembly... And not attached to the sensor.
I have asked Peau about a NVDI modification for the camera but it would be to hard to replace this filter and then refocus the lens assembly.

There is s thread at the inside end of the lens assembly, however it is not attached to anything. Focus is ONLY pre set in factory and then glued in with the white plastic ring.

I decided to remove the factory mushroom and play around a bit.
The 4Hawks H480 antenna had a nice little pig tail to use. BTW the new H520 4Hawks does not come with it.

Interestingly there are two little retaining screws that are not installed on this cover... Mainly add you can't get to them to undo them. It shows that for the first time they got it right not to install these.
I hate it in cars when you are working on the back of the motor and you have to use 3 wobbly sockets to get to a bolt. Because you know they put that bolt in before the engine is put into the car. So thanks Yuneec for not putting those two little screws in :p

Here is the VERY hard to get back together ribbon cable. I pushed the thin screwdriver into the foam and pushed up on both sides at the same time. It worked.

For those who use a ND filter at find that it is two heavy and you have to add some weight up back. Removing these and the removing the plastic bracing will Lower the weight out front.

Done

Thank you very much, superb cutting work. Very illustrative and that helps to solve doubts :)

Lot of work in this post.. very informative. Good work
Thanks mate.
Just trying to help out.
We are all feeling it over the new one. But at least we will be able to tell what the differences are hardware anyway. Once we get one.

The photos give a lot of clues but seeing the work you've done....... Do you find it very difficult to opt for a lens change on the E90?

Lens change very easy.
But there is no way to focus it. It is just stuck in there.

Well, it would be a question of the new lens having the same anchoring system and then having a focusing system. If it's gonna work for this camera, it should.

The question we've all understood why I'm asking it, right?

Sorry mate I'm a bit slow.
What you meaning?

It was a rhetorical question, but I can explain :)

If the camera comes to us with a faulty lens and a member of Yuneec seems to have said that it is not going to be fixed, we have choice to replace it by our own means. If I understood correctly.

Correct.
My concern with this setup is how to get it to mount to it and allow for focusing.
Atm it is a pre focused lens assembly glued onto of the mounting frame.
The frame is very large and I'm sure a big lens could be out in it.
However Peau said they don't have anything that size.
I also think that the end of the lens is smaller in diameter than the diameter of the sensor.....
Therefore I wonder how much better it might get if we were able to get different larger glass.
Weight may have been the contributing factor.

Yes, but in the end the result is the same. I understand that it is a design or manufacturing flaw and that someone will find the solution. It's easier for us to have a physical solution than having to play in post-production
