Manual:

Preparation for 1st flight:
1. Connect ST16 to PC via datacapable micro USB cable. For Windows, the ST16 must be fully booted up before you plug in the USB cable. Download the complete folder "/flightlog" and store it somewhere. If the previous user didn't delete the log you have a good history of the drone, such as possible crashes, use case, how frequently and so on. No need to do something with it in the first step, but good to have a history in case of problems.

2. Create a new model on base of default Typhoon H and call it “My best drone” or whatever you want.

3. Bind this new model to drone and camera. See manual for binding procedure.

4. Do Compass and Accelerometer calibration. Compass calibration procedure: See manual.

5. Go out in a free, open area and do the first test flight without camera. If all is godd, attach the camera and test again. If all is good, have fun.

Tons of good descriptions and helpful procedures in WTFD project in this forum.

Never do factory resets or FW updates or other irregular procedures when you not exactly know what you are doing and when you not have done a proper diagnosis of the problem before.

Diagnosis tools:
Typhoon H GUI: Dropbox
Flight logs: http://h-elsner.mooo.com/pdf/Q500log2kml_en.pdf

the flight log you posted above mention q500 in the file. is this the correct one to use or was it posted by mistake? thanks for all the help

I started development when I got a Q500. The aim was to convert telemetry to a KML or GPX flight track. But then I realized that one can make a lot more with the logs, HW diagnosis, find a lost drone, analyze crashes and so on.
When times go on new drones from Yuneec came out and they have same flight log format (now called legacy Yuneec log format). So, the application can be used too. Then Yuneec drones came out based on PX4 Autopilot. Different log format, but format decoding added to the feature list, works.
The flight log tool emerged over nine years and is still usable for late Yuneec drones. However, the name remains the same.

BTW, Typhoon H belongs to the legacy-log-format drones, means the format is near to Q500, H920. H Plus, H520, Mantis Q are different (PX4). Yuneec Breeze is different to all other, but Q500log2kml can also used for that one.

Sad to say that the development comes to an end. Yuneec dropped consumer drones from portfolio. The latest drones H850, H600 are far far away from my budget (as the H Plus was already) and my motivation to do something for those is zero.
But hey, for out vintage drones the flight log tool is good to go and the description of the log files format is valid as far as I could find out the data structure.
