Is the AMA Finally Waking Up?

They sent me an Email about it.
For those who are AMA members, DO NOT be fooled into thinking your normal member coverage is for commercial use. I called and asked some time ago. They can deny coverage if you are not flying at a sanctioned location, or sanctioned event. You have to have some other commercial coverage, either privately or now through the AMA.
It is about time the AMA took multirotors a bit more seriously.

Glad you found that out. Far too many are under the impression they can fly their multirotors pretty much anywhere and be covered with insurance if they are AMA members. They should take a step back and read the insurance requirements and disclaimers describing where, when, and how the coverage might be applicable. For the most part, it won't cover if flying someplace that doesn't meet the AMA's flying field safety code. The only coverage that's reasonably assured is theft from a locked vehicle, but the vehicle better sustain damage from the break in to indicate it was locked prior to the theft. A police report of the theft is required.
