Looking for a cheap DVR for the st16's HDMI out.

HDMI To a TV is easy.
HDMI to a monitor works with DVI, but not VGA.
I am trying to find the "cheapest" way to record the ST16's flight screen.
My hope is for a small kit that will fit next to the arm button, with switched power from the ST16's battery.
That way it will still fit in the backpack.
My budget will not cover a $100-150 DVR.

@Ty Pilot uses an external drive to the ST16. Perhaps check with him to see what he recommends.

@Sureshot about the cheapest way to record the ST-16 screen is about 60 dollars currently. But along with that you will need a 4.8 volt battery pack. Amazon has these for 60 dollars currently.

@Ty Pilot Wouldnt this work for power? I planned on just using one of my power bricks, with this from a 5v outlet.

USB to 5.5/2.1 Connector

It’s center positive....

The voltage requirement of the recorder is 5 volts so I think it might. With the Typhoon H, a power brick will work but with the ST-16S that has a USB port, it might be all you need

I didn’t think of that, but yeah, if it puts out 5v instead of 2.1v.......I use the bricks on both controllers to help extend the battery time and charge between flights. I don’t yet have a multiple battery solution in place for the ST16’s.....

Use an additional battery pack. Every time I use the ST-16’s HDMI out I’ve experienced increased battery drain on the ST-16.
