The infamous "three black wires" have possibly been responsible for the damage of more CGo3 cameras than all other causes combined. One common problem is that when the wires are damaged, people have installed and powered up through the pigtail without properly securing, insulating or removing the damaged wires. The result can be a damaged gimbal board or damaged mainboard in the drone itself.
A forum member recently had need to remove the wires from his camera. He asked for some instructions and pictures. The document is posted here in case anyone else needs the same information. A French language version is also provided.

The member for which this document was written found the instructions to be daunting, and asked why I had not recommended just cutting the wires. This was my response:

"If the wires are pulled out by a crash, there is often damage to the board, and sometimes remnants of the wire strands remain attached. Both can cause issues if not found and corrected. Using the method described in the document allows you to find them.
Removing the wires as is shown in the document also permanently removes any possibility they can cause mechanical or electrical problems in the future.
With that said, yes, the circuit can be broken by cutting the wires. It is critical that the freshly cut ends are insulated. Both fresh ends of each wire will still have an electrical charge."
