Sad news. Canadian Forces Snowbird pilot killed in jet crash.

Just after I posted a video of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds flying over our city, one of their jets went down today in Kelowna and a pilot lost her life. Snowbirds Public Affairs Officer Capt. Jennifer Casey lost her life after they had a malfunction and ejected. This is a real heart breaker as the east coast has had many tragedies over the past few weeks and she was from Halifax. It also hits Saskatchewan and especially the city of Moose Jaw where 15 Wing is based out of.

So sorry to read if this. Saw this on our news feed.

Such a tragic loss, especially considering it was in the line of duty, trying to lift the spirits of so many others.

It does Murray... I still remember how the Western NY community dealt with the crash of the Blue Angels in 1985...

I watched the video.
It looked liked an engine fail just after take-off.
The pilot pulled up and roller over to gain safe ejection attitude.
There was not enough speed to level the wings and they had to eject too close to the ground.
The chutes didn't have time to open.
