I feel for those people. Hopefully most of them will have insurance but that's not the issue. Some things can't be put right by insurance.
Some months ago there was a big gas explosion in Newferry, Wirral, England. It devastated a whole community and put many businesses out of business. This was not a wealthy area and so many people didn't have insurance. But those people's property was damaged through no fault of their own.
Wirral explosion is now police investigation
Because of the still contradictory definitions of legality at state and federal levels, one of the real business losers in the CA wildfires are the marijuana farms. They can't get insurance, federal disaster aid or even crowdsource funding.
