There is a lack of places that might be nice to fly so while fooling around in the park with features I never used i thought why not. So in orbit mode (h) the craft was doing it's thing flying around me I tapped the screen to make the maximum view. I couldn't get the screen get back to smaller screen. Meanwhile the h kept flying around me. Tried everything to no avail so I pushed the switch back and forth from smart to angle and eventually it landed. What did I do wrong?

Turn on the controller. Bind to the camera. "Double Tap" the screen to go to maximum view. Then "Double Tap" it again to see if it will return to normal view. If it does not work, there may be an issue with the touch screen.

What kind of weather were you having while in the park?

@DoomMeister might know more about how orbit works and how close to the "Pause/Play" icons you have to tap to pause and restart the orbit.

The weather was perfect and double tapping wasn't the answer. I will try again today and give it another go.

When you switched flight modes (from Angle to Smart and back to Angle) the Orbit should have stopped. You should have been able to resume normal flight. You could also switch the Home (RTH) and had the aircraft return and land automatically.

Normally you would tap the Pause icon and have the option to continue (Play) Orbit or Exit the Orbit mode. While in Orbit you can use left stick up/down to increase/decrease altitude, right stick up/down to control distance of the Orbit, and right stick left/right to control speed and direction of the Orbit.

I would follow @WTFDproject ‘s suggestion to try double tapping the screen a few times before taking off to ensure that the touch screen is responding as it should for making the camera view change between with and without icons.

Be sure to read and review Orbit Me in the enhanced user manual starting on page 37.

I just had to say this about the typhoon h one more time. I fly my less than 250 grams drones often but there is still nothing like flying the H!! The whole process from putting on the props to using the st.16!! It was 6 years ago that I finally found this forum after months of watching videos etc. Thanks all and especially to Tom and Steve who were patient and more than helpful!!
