It should have the same software.Hi folks as title says am waiting on my 1st H to be shipped from copter.eu in Germany so wanting to ask I am from Scotland in the UK so does this mean my H will have different software from the UK typhoon H
EU firmware is installed on all units sold in Europe and the U.K. so that they meet with EU requirements in relation to radio power outputs. The U.S.A. on the other hand allows for much stronger signals so units sold in America benefit from being able to operate at slightly longer distances...I say slightly, because the EU firmware has the advantage of 'channel hopping' which helps matters somewhat...although this can mean that EU units can take longer for the camera to connect. Another respect that makes EU units differ from U.S. units is that an EU unit is more likely to drop the camera connection when raising the landing gear...doesn't happen every time but many EU users have reported this problem.Hi folks as title says am waiting on my 1st H to be shipped from copter.eu in Germany so wanting to ask I am from Scotland in the UK so does this mean my H will have different software from the UK typhoon H
Flush, is there anything we can do to reduce camera signal loss with EU models or is it something we just need to learn to live with?EU firmware is installed on all units sold in Europe and the U.K. so that they meet with EU requirements in relation to radio power outputs. It is possible to install the USA firmware, I have only ever done it on a firmware update myself. There is a thread somewhere on here that describes the procedure. It definitely speeds up connection time.Flush, is there anything we can do to reduce camera signal loss with EU models or is it something we just need to learn to live with?

Bear in mind that technically you could be breaking UK frequency laws.
Or the antenna upgrade
I am given to understand that one way to reduce the possibility of a camera disconnect (lessen the chances but it may still happen) is once the camera has initially connected do a re-bind of the camera. This has the effect of terminating the initial week connection and establishing a second supposedly stronger connection. Let me explain...Flush, is there anything we can do to reduce camera signal loss with EU models or is it something we just need to learn to live with?
Nothing technical about it. If you use the USA firmware in the U.K. you are breaking the law...period. That said, the likelihood of being caught if you are using the U.S. firmware is pretty remote, I have to say. The main possibility of being caught may come about from you being involved in a reportable incident and your equipment is seized by the authorities. But how often does that happen? It is possible to install the USA firmware, I have only ever done it on a firmware update myself. There is a thread somewhere on here that describes the procedure. But before you go ahead with changing from EU firmware to the U.S. firmware to benefit from the faster connection times, consider the other impacts. There are technical reasons (which are frankly a bit over my head but I do know they are there) why EU firmware is best for the EU ans U.S firmware is better for the U.S. It's not just about a stronger signal! Maybe someone with better knowledge than me can jump in here.
I use my H480 for commercial work as well as hobby stuff and so I want to stay within the law so my aircraft uses EU firmware and the height restriction has been left as standard.
I was wondering that too.Hello Thomas, Curious to find out why you ordered your Typhoon H from Germany? We could have supplied you one from the UK. In fact we are only 98 miles from your location.
Currently we have a ex demo machine with all the trimmings on the shelf with only 12 hours on the airframe.

Excuse me? That sounds like a contradiction of what was said earlier that EU firmware gives less reliable signal. In EU the H does 'signal hopping' so it wil stay tuning in on the best signal transfer available.
