What video editing software do people use or recommend

Hi from Galway.
I have Sony Movie studio 12. I tried it but it freezes and crashes fulltime.
I did the research and ordered Corel VideoStudio.
It has a proxy low res that you edit so the high res is not clogging system.
I have been using CorelDraw in work since 1991 so maybe I'm biased.
You can download a trial version.

I did not try it yet but looks easy if you know your way around any video editor.

I use Lightworks, which is free to use and pretty powerful (and complicated!). The free version has some limitations on what resolutions out can output, but you can buy licenses 'by the month' and write out existing projects when you need to.

None of you have mentioned the Adobe platform, i.e.; Premier Elements 14. Is it an acceptable editing program? Pros and Cons, please. Thanks in advance.

I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro, very easy to use and integrates well with other Adobe products.
