First of all a strong warning: It
is dangerous to use the short CGO3 ball type dampers on a CGO3+ gimbal.
Let me say that
@Eagle's Eye Video is absolutely right about the dampers being designed for the camera/gimbal, and only the proper dampers should be used. Remember the two gimbals are different in design, one having 360° rotation and the other does not. Normally using the wrong dampers will only result in imaging issues.
However there is a serious problem if you use the shorter CGO3 ball type on the CGO3+: The wires that exit from the bottom gimbal plate can
and will rub on the metal plate that is attached to the bottom-side of the upper gimbal plate. This will rub thru the insulation and short the wires to the metal plate, causing an instant voltage loss resulting in a crash. This has been reported by a member here who had this very thing happen.
My H Pro (Referb) for some reason came with the CGO3 ball type dampers, and when I read about the shorting problem I checked my wires and sure enough, they had started to rub thru the insulation on the metal plate, and before too much longer that would have happened to me! I immediately replaced mine with the taller 3-rib style that is suppose to be on the CGO3+. This gives the wires the space they need for clearance. One problem is that with the gimbal guard on, you cannot see this problem developing, you must remove the guard to see the problem.
