new to board

Hi
I'm new to the board, but have had a Q500 for 3 years now. First question I have is what's the electrical connection for that's just inside the battery door? Kind of in the way to insert a battery.

Welcome to the forum. The wire is for connection to the GUI (graphical user interface).
