Think I got it. I deleted the Gamesir from the BT list and then restarted the controller. It reappeared in the list and paired. Go figure.

It’s an iPhone 7 software is up to date

I see Gamesir-G3 in my iPhone’s Bluetooth devices list but I keep getting the dreaded “connection unsuccessful” message when I attempt to pair. Clearly the iPhone has seen the controller. The blue lights blink on the controller, but alas no pairing. What’s wrong here? Thanks Bruce
