Just got this email. Are those batteries still decent? I had a few Venom's years ago when I raced RC trucks and they seemed well built. I'm just a bit hesitant in putting an aftermarket battery in a $2000 drone.

Did a chat session with Yuneec and they emailed me a Return Authorization. I'll reply when I get it back, hopefully not too long. EDIT: Shipped the unit back to Yuneec today. Holy smokes is shipping expensive- $136 (with 2K insurance) to Kansas City. At least it's a business expense. Yikes.

Barton, since you're expanding into different aspects of R/C do not, I repeat, DO NOT get involved with RC crawler/ scaler trucks. It's a perpetual money pit. Don't ask me (or my wife) how I know. :P

I bought mine at Best Buy on July 6. It was so new they didn't have it on display yet. The sales guy had to disappear into the 'back room' to get it.

Compass calibration only.

I tried it with the camera removed and I couldn't do the calibration- kept hitting the "start" button and nothing . Put the camera back on and I could perform the calibration .

Should the camera be removed while doing those calibrations?
