Place to practice - in Huntington Beach, CA

Is that Irvine Lake proper or Irvine Regional Park? According to City of Irvine website there are no restrictions on flying in City parks. guess I'll have to try Irvine.

Place to practice - in Huntington Beach, CA

Out of date - trust me I know. I contacted the PD when there doc first went online in 2016. Captain in a letter basically told me go fly in another city. I’ve been at this for over two years but gave up because of the hassle with PD and other pressing life issues. Now I want to restart. I had...

Place to practice - in Huntington Beach, CA

I have restarted my intent to get my Part 107 after life got in the way more than a year ago. I live in Huntington Beach and would like to hear from other Typhoon H pilots. Where do you practice skill building. Although HB does not have a drone ban as such it’s not easy avoiding the Law around...

    UAS registration confusion

Been there many times. So to clarify. I intend to make money after I get my 107 cert. In the mean time it’s ok for me to register my H 107 even though I don’t have a remote cert yet.? Does that question make any since? Remember the language “must obtain” not “must have first obtained” just...

Only flew once to 6 feet in back yard just to check everything out and make sure it works. I’m confused about which registration to do. 107 allows for recreational...

    What airports are "real"?

Well that’s not completely true if I remember correctly. Most Helliports do not show on the sectional. I seem to recall that FAA does define a heliport as an airport. That’s what keeps me grounded here in OC.

    Southern California Typhoon H Flyers

The idea is a good one except it’s a good drive for me to get down there. The drive along would limit my opertunity to show up more then once a month. I need six more batteries to make the gas expense worth it. Has to be a safe area in OC to fly and practice recreationally.
