Any more than a 2X digital - yes I mean digital - zoom doesn’t make much sense, as you’re just enlarging pixels. Any more than that and I think it just gets too pixelated to be useful.

Why would you need an 8X digital zoom when you already have 30X optical zoom?

Totally agree, same reason I was considering a Mavic 2 Pro. Wish Yuneec would also come out with a Mantis G "Pro" - a portable bird with a 1" sensor.

Maybe, but the Hex series has way better capabilities/specs, does it not? Much better control in higher winds, interchangeable lens with 1" sensor option, prop redundancy, etc? Is the new Mantis G ($699) competitive with the Mavic Air ($799), based on the specs? I haven't looked, but what has changed besides the gimbal? I think the Mavic Air still has a better gimbal? Yuneec needs to make sure they are offering a truly competitive alternative to DJI.

I think there's been a consensus that the consumer market is tapped out (for all drone makers), so makes sense to focus on commercial. Hopefully something comes of it!
